Mood: Okay I guess It's monday February 8, 2010, still no job, and every day that goes by grows a bigger necesitty to have one because of the college debt I've yet to pay. Parsons the new school for Design College Review Parsons the new school of Design is probably one of the biggest mistakes I'll ever make in my life. My best advice for any prospective college student is to NOT go to a college they can't afford. This college was literally 40k a year. I applied for Financial Aid and they hardly gave me anything because my parents make "just enough" I filed an application for Special circumstances at the school explaining my financial situation my dads job loss etc.. and still did not recieve any help, so I did what I had to which was to leave that school. They say parsons is one of the best fashion schools in the world...BULLSHIT Parsons is the WORST art and design school you can ever go to, the first year is a serious theft of money because you don't do ANYTHING related to your major and are only allowed to take two liberal art classes. You don't even get to intern in Sophomore year its moved up to Junior year because Sophomore year is when you're actually introduced to your major. Thank God I left the first semester when I realised how deep in shit I was going to get myself into, but now I am $8,000 in debt and I need a job if im not gonna be attending the next semester. The first thing I told my brother and sister to do is to find a cheap college, I told them this... "It doesn't matter where you get your degree from, it could be Harvard or a SUNY school, in the end its the same job income, with more debt on Harvards side." I advise everyone to do the same, unless your parents are filthy rich of course :] |
